Alberto Del Rio Arrested

05/11/2020

This past weekend, the Wrestling Community learned about the arrest of Alberto Del Rio, his real name is Jose Alberto Rodriguez. Saturday, May 9, Del Rio was charged by Bexar Country Central Magistrate (San Antonio, Texas) with sexual assault in an alleged story that is detailed with gruesome as the story develops.

NBC News 4 San Antonio explained on an affidavit:

"The most recent incident took place on May 3, when Rodriguez Chucuan accused the victim of being unfaithful," said the report per investigators.

"She claimed he became angry when she wouldn't admit to the infidelity, so he slapped her across the head, slapped her again, then took her to his downstairs bedroom and slapped her eight more times, according to arrest paperwork. The victim alleged he then made her put on a dress and dance for him, but she refused, prompting him to warn her not to cry or he'd take her son and 'drop him off in the middle of the road somewhere.'"

"Police said Rodriguez Chucuan then tied the woman's hands with boxing straps, put a sock in her mouth and sexually assaulted her for several hours, using various objects. According to investigators, he also punched her in the back during the assault, causing visible injuries. The victim told detectives she does not remember much after he placed his hand around her throat."

Del Rio has a history of violence. He had an incident with a WWE social media manager that led to his firing. Del Rio came back to WWE only to be suspended for violating WWE's wellness policy.

Del Rio was detained for domestic violence battery at Orlando International Airport in an incident with retired WWE Superstar Paige (real name is Saraya-Jade Bevis).

Del Rio posted bond on Sunday morning and was released from prison. There has not been any further development on the story but there will be plenty soon to come. As for Del Rio's career, this might be an ending pro-wrestling career. It is known that Triple H does not want him in the WWE and I am sure other wrestling programs would concur and follow suit.
