Charlotte Flair - NXT Women's Champion

04/06/2020

Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley squared off for the first time in a singles match for the NXT Championship. Rhea attempted to get into Charlotte's skin by putting pressure to challenge her for the title. Charlotte, a royal rumble winner, had an option to choose which title to chase. She decided to go back to NXT and win the title. At WrestleMania, Charlotte demonstrated why she is the queen.

Charlotte attacked Ripley's left leg, focusing on her left knee. Ripley did her best to get by Charlotte but was not able to capitalize. Ripley executed the Riptide (Pumphandle Powerbomb) but Charlotte kicked out. She gave her last finishing move with a Prism Trap with no success. Charlotte applied Figure Eight and made Ripley tap out.

Charlotte is now the two-time NXT Champion. She will await the winner of the six women Ladder's Match on April 8. Chelsea Green, Mia Yim, Tegan Nox, Io Shirai, Candace LeRae, and Dakota Kai square off for the number one contender of the NXT Championship.

Charlotte is really smart and she knows what is going on in the WWE. Why did Charlotte choose Rhea Ripley for the NXT Title? She did state that she already fought Becky Lynch (RAW Champion) and Bayley (Smackdown Champion). Is it because Shayna Baszler went to RAW? Is Charlotte running away from the real competition?

NXT is not the same as when Charlotte was there in 2015. The NXT Women's division has many superstars and better competition. However, Finn Balor returned to NXT and is having success. Charlotte can still defend and conquer NXT.

When will Charlotte and Shayna Baszler have a one-on-one? It will be a while and pointless to wait for the dream match.
