Contract Gone Wrong and And a Superstar Surprise
On Smackdown, Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville hosted the official contract signing for Roman Reigns and Finn Balor. The match is scheduled to main event Summerslam for the Universal Championship. Just when Balor was about to sign the contract, Baron Corbin blindsided Balor and threw him out of the ring. He was about to sign the contract when Cena sprinted in the ring and took him out. Cena signed the contract that left Reigns extremely upset. But, it the signing legal?
According to the local legal representative, depending which state you are located, the document can be voided if pursed by one or more parties involved in the contract signing. That means, Finn Balor can protest because it was verbally agreed with the champion to square off for the championship. The contract itself had Roman Reigns and Finn Balor's name printed for their signing. Also, Roman Reigns can decline again and have the last laugh. Should Reigns and Balor enforce the legal matters to Pearce and DeVille, the planned main event between Roman Reigns and John Cena can change into a triple threat match to include Balor or a fatal four-way by adding Corbin into the mix.
Official Match Card
The WWE has officially made the match that Roman Reigns will defend the Universal Championship against John Cena at Summerslam. If it remains that way, Balor will challenge Corbin.
Banks returned to Smackdown since losing the WWE Smackdown Women's Championship at WrestleMania. She partnered with Bianca Belair and defeated Carmella and Zelina Vega. After the match, Banks and Belair celebrated. But then, Banks hit the "Bank Statemen" on Belair shouting, "I'm the BOSS." Banks is on the revenge to get back the Smackdown title.
