Drew McIntyre and Rocky share the same story

Drew McIntyre is the next rising star for WWE. His life is built within the storyline from how he started, the obstacles he faced, and the return to the WWE to be placed in a position like this. Drew has posted pictures on Twitter on his training in Scotland. Inspired by the movie Rocky, let's compare the two right here:

Rocky is a fictional heavyweight fighter from Philadelphia who received an opportunity to fight the heavyweight champion Apollo Creed. Although he lost in Rocky I, Rocky went victorious in Rocky II, proving he had what it takes to survive, win, and be financially stable. Yes, this was a movie. However, we can see relations compared to Drew.

Drew debuted for WWE on August 25, 2009. He became the Intercontinental Champion by defeating John Morrison at TLC, December 2009. His title run lasted until he was defeated by Kofi Kingston at 2010 OVer The Limit PPV. Drew went on to become the tag team champion with Cody Rhodes. But in 2011, Drew's career was going in a different direction as he was constantly losing match after match. Losing to Zack Ryder and Santino Marella is not a good sign for success. Drew will join 3MB with Heath Slater and Jinder Mahal. 3MB was a set up for an official WWE jobber for all superstars. Drew was released in 2014.

In 2018, Drew returned to WWE and dominated NXT. He won the 2020 Men's Royal Rumble and is the number one contender for the WWE championship. Drew is set to face the champion, Brock Lesnar.

Drew faced similar challenges like the fictional Rocky. Would Drew find himself wearing the title around his waist after Sunday? Lesnar vs McIntyre is the main event of WrestleMania 36.
