Former New York Giants Head Coach Jim Fassel Dies
Former New York Giants head coach Jim Fassel has died at the age of 71. Multiple sources confirmed with John Fassel, the son, that he had passed away Monday night.
The LA Times reported that Jim Fassel was taken to the hospital after experiencing chest pains. He later went under sedation where he died of a heart attack.
Jim Fassel was a head coach of the New York Giants from 1997 to 2003. He had three winning seasons (58 Wins 53 Losses 1 Tie). In the 2000-2001 season, Fassell finished in first place in the NFC East, won the NFC Championship (41-0 over the Minnesota Vikings) and lost Super Bowl XXXV 34-7 to the Baltimore Ravens.
Jim Fassel won NFL Coach of the Year in 1997. Also, he won two UFL Championships as the head coach of the Las Vegas Locomotives.
