Houston 37 LA 17


In the second game of the XFL, Houston Roughnecks (1-0) defeated the Los Angeles Wildcats (0-1) final score 37-17.

PJ Walker led the Roughnecks with tremendous air attacks. He went 23-of-39 with 272 passing yards, four touchdown passes, and rushed for 26 yards. C. Phillips was targeted the most but caught 4 passes for 67 yards and one touchdown. K.Lewis, S. Mobley, and J. Butler caught each caught one touchdown pass.

For the LA Wildcats, it was a struggle in the second half to score on their opponent. C. Kanoff left game with an injury. He threw for 21-of-40, 214 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. J. McClendon came in but could not find a way to spark the offense. The Roughnecks defense kept putting pressure on the Quarterbacks throughout the game. LA will need to find a way to protect their quarterback in order to push the ball and score more points. Josh Johnson, who was out with an injury, could make a difference should he return next week.

Week 2: Houston will host St Louis Battlehawks; Los Angeles will host Dallas Renegades.
