Charlotte and Asuka defeated IIconics and Bayley & Banks by submission.

Bayley and Banks interrupted Asuka before opening Monday Night Raw to gloat about winning the tag team titles.  Charlotte Flair arrives to address the champions.  Thereafter, the IIconics announced the triple threat match that will happen at Backlash - Bayley & Banks vs. The IIconics vs. Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross.

However, a triple threat match started the show with Asuka and Charlotte teaming up.  They did not get along as they both rather fight by themselves.  While Charlotte prepared to do a moonsault, Asuka tagged in and applied the Asuka Lock on Billie Kay for the win.  The Queen had the last words as she laid out The Empress of Tomorrow.

*reaction: It was a great match to start the show.  All three tag teams did well and really focused on Asuka and Charlotte for the upcoming main event match.

Aleister Black & Humberto Carrillo defeated Murphy and Austin Theory

The match was incredible as Black dominated and did the pinning for the win.  Unfortunately, the win paid the price as Seth Rollins came in giving orders to his disciples to attack Black and Carrillo.

*reaction: The real story behind all this is Rey Mysterio will more than likely appear on Raw next week.  With Backlash being an after thought next week, Mysterio making his presence will sky-rocket the ratings and we could see Rollins and Mysterio crash for Extreme Rules PPV.

Andrade earned the number one contender spot for the United States Championship

Kevin Owens hit the stunner on Angel Garza and was sent flying by Andrade.  Andrade pinned Garza for the win.  Andrade will challenge the United States Champion Apollo Crews at Backlash.

Bobby Lashley and MVP defeated The Viking Raiders

In attendance watching the match were the RAW Tag Team Champions, the Street Profits, and the WWE Champion, Drew McIntyre.  Lashley, who has been dominate for the past month, demonstrated his abilities as the Viking Raiders had no answer for him.  MVP took the punishment but Lashley did all the strength and endurance in the match.

*reaction: The McIntyre and Lashley looks pretty slow in the development stage.  Besides one brawl, Lashley could had attacked McIntyre outside the ring but managed to be disciplined enough to spear Ivar instead.  After the match, Lashley applied the full nelson on Ivar that brought Street Profits in the ring to break it up.  McIntyre executed the claymore to break it up.  Somehow, it did break up the full nelson but no effect on Lashley.  There are no signs of Drew losing the title anytime soon but one has to wonder the outcome at Backlash.

Charlotte defeated Asuka

The main event was long.  It showed more of Charlotte being the most dominate women in the ring.  The IIconics attacked Bayley and Banks at the announcer's table while the match was going on.  Despite the longevity of the match, Nia Jax distracted Asuka and that allowed Charlotte to take advantage.

*reaction: Many on social media criticized the match and how Asuka looks less of a true fighter compared to their match back at WrestleMania.  The match lasted a little over 20 minutes and yet the referee botched the three count as Asuka did lift her shoulder before the count three.  During the replay, it never showed the actual three count as it stopped at two.
