Mustafa Ali Comes Out

10/07/2020

On October 5, 2020, Mustafa Ali showed his true identity as "Retribution." The Hurt Business (MVP, Bobby Lashley, and Shelton Benjamin) were surrounded once again. MVP invited Ali to take a stand. Ali approached the members, only to turn around and give a command to attack. So let's backtrack to where all of this started.

In March 2020, there were glitches on Smackdown. It was determined that there was a hacker. The first superstars to be exposed were Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville. It sparked a tremendous feud that ended with Sonia leaving the company and Rose to wrestle in Raw. The hacker's mystery continued to send messages stating that he sees everyone, hears everything, and no one is safe.

Many wondered who is this mystery purpose. People suspected Ali at first because of the symbol. Then, CM Punk's name came across because he was doing FOX WWE show.

Finally, on Monday Night Raw, Ali extended his hand out as he routinely makes when he makes his entrance with his hand extended. The truth is out and now we have a small portion of exposure of the retribution. But why did Ali make this transition?

Ali's career in the WWE had highs and lows. When the WWE Universe believes he will reach stardom, he sinks downward as a jobber. Ali had an opportunity to score big in February 2019 but suffered an injury by Randy Orton. Kofi Kingston replaced Ali in the Elimination Chamber that sparked his road to the WWE Championship against Daniel Bryan.

Ali had a chance to win the WWE Championship at Fastlane 2019. He was involved in a triple threat match against Bryan and Kevin Owens. Also, he had four chances to win the Intercontinental Championship and lost all four times to Shinsuke Nakamura.

Ali had been absent from television but was winning dark matches. When appearing on television, he would lose until to Ricochet, Riddick Moss and Bobby Lashley. Things are just not going well for Ali.

As a result, Ali found himself as one of the top heels in WWE. With the WWE Draft coming up this Friday on Smackdown and Monday Night Raw, will we even see a draft? Will Retribution disrupt the draft and crash the party?
