NXT Results and Reactions 05.06

On Wednesday, NXT on USA Network, the show had match cards labeled as an NXT Takeover. Predictions were made for the event. The battles were great but the outcome was left at a suspense. Here are the results and reactions of the night.

In the main event, Adam Cole defeated Velveteen Dream

Cole and Dream match lived up the excitement as they both gave pure action. Dream had the momentum as it looked like he would win the match. The Undisputed Era (Roderick Strong and Bobby Fish) headed to the ring. Surprisingly, Dexter Lumis came out from under the ring to stop them. During the side distraction, Dream jumped from the top ropes and landed the Dream Valley Driver on Cole. The referee went down hard in the chaos brawl outside the ring. Cole was out but Dream could not get the three count.

The Dream, disappointed, got up and jumped over the ropes and landed on the Undisputed Era to help Lumis. When he got back in the ring, Cole had recovered, superkicked, and executed the last shot to retain his NXT title.

As I stated in my prediction, Adam Cole is protected by his peers. Cole is not going to lose anytime soon until there are more allies for Dream to stop the Undisputed Era. I am surprised that Lumis returned to help Dream. This is the second time Lumis has helped Dream from being ambushed. What is the agenda for Lumis? I would not be surprised if there is a scheduled match set for Dream/Lumis vs Strong/Fish.

Io Shirai wins by DQ

Charlotte Flair lost her cool as she hit Shirai with the kendo stick. Although Shirai was kicking out of the three counts and counter attacking at times, Charlotte was still in control. I do not know if she claimed to be an easy match but Shirai is "The Joshi Judas." Meaning, she is the real deal. Charlotte's action led to a disqualification and Shirai got a victory. After the match, Charlotte continued to abuse and attack Shirai as she went for the Figure Eight around the steel post. Rhea Ripley shocked the TV audience as she made her appearance and chased Charlotte. For Shirai, she was disappointed and went after Ripley.

This is a whole domino effect between the three superstars. Shirai made Charlotte frustrated that led to a DQ, Ripley comes out to get after Charlotte, now Shirai feels that her honor of fighting Charlotte went to waste. Therefore, either we see Shirai vs Ripley or a triple threat match.

Charlotte claims to be better than anyone in the NXT division. She is too good for anyone since she is on RAW and NXT. She will soon get what she deserves and the only person to stop her is Rhea Ripley.

Karrion Kross debut

Kross and Scarlett had one of the best entrances in NXT. It is too bad that there was not a crowd in the building to feel the power. I had thought we were going to see Kross and Balor, but that was not the case. Kross came out and eliminated his opponent quickly. His debut had social media trending.

Finn Balor seeking for answers

Balor did not find the person that attacked him two weeks ago. He is investigating and will hunt the person down. Instead, Balor got in the ring after listening to Cameron Grimes talk a lot of noise. Grimes got punked down and Balor finished him off.

Johnny Gargano defeated Dominik Dijakovic

Gargano is the top heel of NXT. His status, along with Candice LeRae, is unstoppable. Gargano's new role is straight-up dominance. As long as he has his wife by his side, Gargano will continue to win as he did over Dijakovic.

Other matches in the show:

Akira Tozawa defeated Jack Gallagher

Chelsea Green defeated Xia Li

Kushida defeated Tony Atlas

Cameron Grimes defeated Denzel Dejournette
