The New Day defeated The Hurt Business

In a terrific match to supersede Survivor Series, Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston redeemed themselves after a loss and overcame against Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin.  The Hurt Business came so close but the skills and experience favored the New Day.  Alexander and Benjamin have lost three times and I do not believe they will get another opportunity.

What is next for the New Day?  There is only one other group that may step up and that is Retribution.

Riddle defeated Sheamus

The match is scheduled for a qualifying match for next week in a triple threat match.  The winner will go on and be the number one contender for the WWE Championship and challenge Drew McIntyre at TLC.  Riddle countered a maneuver by Sheamus for the roll up and grabbed the three count.  Sheamus was left disbelief of the outcome.  Riddle advances for a match next week.

Asuka & Lana defeated Tag Team Champions Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler

The original match was scheduled for the Raw Women's Title match between Asuka and Lana.  Since Lana was the last woman standing at Survivor Series, she earned an opportunity in which Asuka accepted the match.  That was not good for the Tag Team Champions.  The disruption of the match forced a tag team match.  The champions were defeated in a non-title match.  It is the bully and  the objectionable from Nia Jax to Lana that cost them the match.  The women's tag team division is up in the air.  Clearly, NXT is by far the superior brand and the title should go that direction.  However, the champions are on Raw and there is no other tag team to compete.  How will WWE fix the tag team division?  Mandy Rose is out with an injury and dana Brook awaits for her recovery.  As for Asuka, she still needs an opponent for TLC.

Keith Lee defeated Bobby Lashley by disqualification

Lashely met his match.  He had an opponent that could not be bullied.  Lee was at a verge to crush Lashley's soul when MVP got involved to protect the CEO of the Hurt Business.  Lee wins the match and advances to the triple threat match.

Alexa Bliss defeated Nikki Cross

AJ Styles defeated Randy Orton

Styles was the last superstar to close the window for next week's triple threat match for the number one contender WWE Championship match against Drew McIntyre.  Thanks to The Fiend, he was able to distract Orton that allowed Styles to hit him with a Phenomenal Forearm.  Styles pinned Orton and will square off against Riddle and Keith Lee.

Predictions: It looks like AJ Style can sneak a win and become the number one contender.  It would be an awesome feud with Drew McIntyre.  As for Braun Strowman, it seems as he is at again.  He finds himself in trouble when there is a championship opportunity.

I do not see Riddle winning the triple threat match.  He may be set up for a match with Bobby Lashley and the Hurt Business.
