Raw Review and Reaction 07.27

07/27/2020
Randy Orton kicked off the show announcing his next target.  He called out Drew McIntyre in pursuit for the WWE Championship.  Orton has revived himself as a legend killer and is on the hot streak.  As Orton stated, there is one thing missing - a title around his waist.  Therefore, a challenge has been issued to Drew and if we know Drew, he is a man that never says "no" to a challenge.

After the Orton's promo, Nia Jax entered the ring and wished for another opportunity for the Raw Women's Championship.  Shayna Baszler interupts the promo and confronts Jax.  The two superstars scrap their way until several referees break up the brawl.

Triple Threat Tag Team Number One Contender Match

Angel Garza & Andrade  defeated The Viking Raiders and Ricochet & Cedric Alexander

Garza and Andrade earned themselves a shot at the tag team titles at Summerslam.  The match came to an end when Garza pinned Alexander after executing the The Wing Clipper. After the match, Garza and Andrade targeted the tag team champions, Street Profits.  It is another statement that the new number one contenders are not afraid of the challenge nor the champions.

Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax (no contest)

Both superstars end in a no contest as both failed to get back in the ring.  The result was a double count out.

*This is a small build-up for a bigger picture.  For the first time, we see Jax and Baszler tangle.  The question is - are these two superstars going to battle next week for the number one contender Raw championship?  Or, will additional superstars be added to the match card?

Monday Night Messiah

Seth Rollins invites Rey Mysterio's son Dominik to the ring.  After promising nothing was going to happen and that there would be peaceful talks, Dominik engaged on an attack on Rollins.  Murphy and Rollins beat down Dominik until Aleister Black showed up to the rescue.  However, Black is still banged up from the beating he received last week.    Black did not have the strength resulting an eye injury from Murphy.  Follow below on the Twitter feed.

*I have a gut feeling that soon Murphy will turn on Rollins.  There have been a few occasions that he has questioned Rollins in his decision making.  I feel Murphy is uncomfortable ever since the eye for an eye began.

Bobby Lashley defeated Mustafa Ali

This was a great match with alot of action.  Ali demonstrated potential to win the match but Lashley found resilience and was able to apply the Full Nelson.

Sasha Banks defeated Asuka via count out

In what was an epic match turned to bewilderment.  Asuka had a chance to put away Banks to win the title but seen her best friend, Kairi Sane getting beat down by Bayley. She chose to save her friend over the championship match.  The referee counted out Asuka.  As a result, Sasha Banks is the new Raw Women's champion.

*Once again, Bayley and Sasha Banks find a way to stay on top in their matches.  There is so much luck involved as they have all the gold.  Only time will tell when their luck will run out.  I wonder if Bayley and Banks will defend all their titles at SummerSlam.

**For Kairi Sane, this might had been the last time she steps into the WWE ring.  She sent a Tweet about how she accomplish her goals and a big thank you.

Murphy defeated Humberto Carrillo

Drew McIntyre defeated Dolph Ziggler in an Extreme Rules Match

McIntyre claymored Ziggler for the win.  However, the best was saved for last.  Randy Orton came out of nowhere, and RKO'ed McIntyre.  Orton's move could make the highlights on ESPN Sportscenter.  It was that GOOD!

It is official - Randy Orton vs Drew McIntyre at Summerslam.
