Saturday XFL Week 3 Recap
Houston Roughnecks 34 Tampa bay Vipers 27
It was the Viper's home game opener and they played their best game in three weeks. However, they came up short to the Roughnecks losing 34 to 27. It was the second straight week that Viper's QB Cornelius attempted to drive the team for the win, only to be intercepted. For the Roughnecks, QB PJ Walker and WR Cam Phillips connected for three touchdowns. Walker completed 24-of-36 passes, 306 passing yards, and four total touchdowns. Phillips set an XFL record with 194 reception yards.
The most notable play between Walker and Phillips came in the first quarter. With 3:49 left, down 3-0, first play on their second possession on the 16 yard line, Walker threw a short pass to Phillips and ran 84 yards for the touchdown. Roughnecks successfully converted a three pointer as Mobley caught Walker's pass to take a 9-3 lead.
Week 3: Houston (3-0) will try to remain unbeaten as they travel to Dallas (2-1); Tampa Bay (0-3) will try to get their first win as they host the DC Defenders.
Dallas Renegades 24 Seattle Dragons 12
Renegades were down 12-6 at the half and found a way to score 18 unanswered points. Renegades QB Jones completed 30-of-41 completions, 274 passing yards, and three touchdowns. However, he did throw two interceptions. As for the Dragons, QB Silvers was hot in the first half but could not come up with any points in the second half. He completed 21-of-34 passes, 204 passing yards, and two touchdowns.
Week 3: Dallas (2-1) will host Houston Roughnecks; Seattle (1-2) will travel to St Louis Battlehawks.
