Seth Rollins to address the WWE Universe

01/20/2024

According to Joseph Currier of Wrestling Observer, Seth Rollins will give an update on his knee injury following his match against Jinder Mahal.  However, the WWE has not made it official about the injury.  Multiple sources are stating that Rollins is diagnosed with a torn MCL and a partial torn meniscus.

Scenario 1 - Rollins relinquishes the belt and the Triple H will place the title in the 30-man Royal Rumble.

Scenario 2 - Rollins can add a stipulation for the main event, Damian Priest vs. Drew McIntyre for the World Heavyweight Championship.

Scenario 3 - Rollins explains that the work load can take a toll at ones body but is still a fighting champion.  He may create an "open challenge."

On November 4, 2015, during a match against Kane in Dublin, Ireland, Rollins suffered a torn ACL, MCL, and medial meniscus.  He had to vacate the world heavyweight championship ending his 220 day reign.  A tournament was established and finalized at Survivor Series in Atlanta, Georgia.  Roman Reigns won by defeating Dean Ambrose.  Shortly there after, Sheamus cashed in his money of the bank contract and won.

Rollins current injury may repeat itself again.  A tournament can be established for the Royal Rumble.  And with the current money in the bank holder, Damian Priest, he may wait until 30 men exhaust themselves to be the winner and cash in to become the new world heavyweight champion.
