Smackdown Results, August 6
We are two weeks away from Summerslam and the build-up for the match cards continues. Two official matches announced on Smackdown and more drama. Here are the following results:
Sasha Banks opened the show explaining why she is the boss. She solely took credit for making the WrestleMania main event an epic performance and Bianca Belair never thanked her. Belair came out and stated that Banks begged her to have the match in the first place. Between the two exchanging words, Zelina Vega interfered in wanting her chance at the title. Belair had agreed twice for a match.
Bianca Belair defeated Zelina Vega.
Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville confirmed that Belair and Banks will face off at Summerslam for the WWE Smackdown Women's Championship.
Finn Balor defeated Baron Corbin.
Last week, Corbin interfered with the contract signing between Balor and Roman Reigns. That caused John Cena to step in and take out his competition and sign the contract against Reigns. Balor is very upset with the situation and explains he will do whatever it takes to get through Cena and have a Universal Championship match against Roman Reigns.
Reigns confronted Balor and expressed his attitude that Balor should not use his name in his sentences. Things got heated as Balor pushed Reigns out of the ring. The Usos came in for the attack, but Balor was left standing for a short while.
In the end, Reigns applied the guillotine and made Balor pass out.
Roman Reigns (C) vs. John Cena at Summerslam for the Universal Championship. However, could Pearce and Deville change the match into a triple threat match? That would be the safe bet or have a Smackdown main event match and have Balor square off against Cena. If Balor wins, he is in the triple threat match.
Jey Uso defeated Dominik Mysterio
Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Apollo Crews via DQ
Tegan Nox defeated Tamina
Edge and Seth Rollins agreed for a match at Summerslam
Montez Ford Defeated Dolph Ziggler
