Smackdown Tag Team Championship at MITB

On May 2, 2020, WWE announced that Smackdown Tag Team Champions, The New Day, will defend their titles in a Fatal-4-Way Match. The other teams participating are The Miz & John Morrison, Lucha House Party, and The Forgotten Sons. The match will take place at Money In The Bank Pay Per View.

The Forgotten Sons (Wesley Blake, Steve Cutler, and Jaxson Ryker) moved from NXT to Smackdown and made a significant impact. They attacked the New Day two weeks ago. Last Friday, they defeated them in a traditional tag team match.

Besides their success, The Lucha House Party (Gran Metalik and Lince Dorado) wanted their chance to get an opportunity to challenge the New Day but were interrupted by Miz & Morrison. Afterward, The Lucha House Party upset Miz & Morrison with a victory to be contenders.

Reaction: There is one more episode of Smackdown before the MITB PPV. WWE could have scheduled a number one contender's match for the tag team championship. The Lucha House Party vs. The Forgotten Sons made sense, and having The New Day at the commentator's table watching the fight up close is more realistic, whereas The Miz and John Morrison observed the Sons and New Day when they lost their own match.

Besides, The Miz and John Morrison did get shafted out of the titles. Morrison did point out that they did not lose the right way. Miz & Morrison did beat The New Day in a traditional match at Super Showdown. Unlike previous tag team champions, they have not conventionally defended the titles - Elimination Chamber, 6 tag teams, WrestleMania 36, triple threat ladder match; Smackdown on Fox, triple threat match.

On Tuesday, The HHWShow will go live on YouTube and Facebook and make their predictions for MITB. The podcast will be at 08:00pm EST. Follow HHWShow on Facebook and/or Subscribe to YouTube.
