WWE's Nathan Bryant reported on the website that MMA Star Valerie Loureda has officially signed a contract to join WWE. She joins a list of names that are former MMA fighters that wrestled in WWE:
I am honored to become the first Cuban American woman in history to sign with the WWE. I come from a family of immigrants, now it’s my time to represent our Latin culture, I was destined for this. Thank you for this opportunity @WWE @WWENXT I will make you proud. AZUCAR! #305 pic.twitter.com/sQ351nuxR8— Valerie Loureda (@valerielouredaa) June 29, 2022
Loureda is from Miami, Florida. In her MMA Bellator career, she fought in the flyweight division with a 4-1 (wins-loss) record with two of those wins by knockout. She is a National Champion in Taekwondo. Loureda made it known she will become the first Cuban American in history to sign with WWE. It is unknown when she will start NXT but it does look promising that a new superstar will rise, maybe a similar path as Shayna Baszler.
