WWE Clash At The Castle Fantasy Bookings

07/31/2022

In 34 days, WWE returns to the United Kingdom for its first major stadium event in 30 years with WWE Clash at the Castle. There has been one official match card with many more to develop as time passes. Drew McIntyre cemented himself as the authentic, number one contender for the undisputed championship held by The Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns. Reigns will defend his title on the 734th day of his title reign. History will take place on September 3rd in Cardiff, Wales.

ROMAN REIGNS (C) vs. DREW MCINTYRE

McIntyre defeated Sheamus in a Good Old Fashioned Donnybrook Match. That made him the number one contender. Reigns was the last man standing in Summerslam by burying Brock Lesnar for the final time. Both superstars scheduled for the main event of the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.

FANTASY BOOKING:

Bianca Belair (C) vs. Bayley

Bayley, Io Shirai, and Dakota Kai made a surprise appearance in Summerslam and confronted Belair in the middle of the ring. However, Belair was not alone as Becky Lynch stood alongside the "EST". If you add WWE superstar Asuka to the mix, WWE Raw will be on fire to observe a 6-women tag match leading to the premium. At Clash at the Castle, expect Belair and Bayley to be booked.

Edge vs Finn Balor

Edge returned and sought revenge on Judgment Day. He speared Damian Priest and Balor, allowing the Mysterios to win their tag team match. The storyline is not close to being finished. The biggest question is - Will Edge go solo or create another faction? Judgment Day consists of Balor, Priest, and Rhea Ripley.

Triple Threat Match (Undisputed tag team championship)

The Street Profits lost their opportunity to win the championships at Summerslam. Injuries suffered by the Viking Raiders have eliminated the New Day. Unless there is a new set of tag teams, WWE only has Viking Raiders and the Alpha Academy to compete against the tag team champions, The Usos. The lack of tag teams in the WWE has the Usos an advantage to continue their title reign.

Seth Rollins vs Riddle

Riddle did his best to call out Rollins for a fight at Summerslam. Without being cleared by medical staff, Riddle dared to step up but was curb stomped down by Rollins. With Clash at the Castle being in September, it should be a reasonable time for Riddle to recover and have his match with Seth "Freakin" Rollins.

INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP

Finally, the Intercontinental Championship will be defended in U.K. Gunther vs. Shinsuke Nakamura will be a great match to be booked for the event. And if so, does this mean Bobby Lashley remains in the U.S. and openly challenges opponents weekly on Raw?

Smackdown Women's Championship

At Summerslam, Liv Morgan was awarded the victory over Ronda Rousey. The replay clearly showed Morgan tapping out while pinning Rousey on the ring mat during the count of two. Morgan dismisses the controversy and explains how she did what she would do. She needed it more and that is why Morgan is the champion. But will she remain the tile holder by September 3rd?

Ronda Rousey may want a rematch as she will make a valid argument about the match. However, Rousey did attack the referee and may be subject to a fine, suspension, or both. Natalya will be a great opponent to claim that Morgan is not the champion and that she needs to relinquish the title. Also, Charlotte Flair can make a surprise appearance on Smackdown. There are many angles to book this championship. Could it be a number one contender vs the champion, a triple threat, or fatal-4-way? Either style of match will be beneficial.

WWE Clash at The Castle will take place on Saturday, September 3rd, 1 pm ET, streaming exclusively on PEACOCK in the U.S. and the WWE Network outside the U.S.
