NXT Vengeance Results & WWE Superstars Prediction Moves

02/05/2023

On Saturday, WWE hosted Vengeance Day at the Spectrum  Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.  It featured five championship matches and a number one contenders match for the NXT Championship.  Here are the results:

Wes Lee (C) defeated Dijak - retained North American Championship title

Lee has been an amazing superstar since going solo from MSK.  Since winning the title in October 2022, Lee has successfully defended the title seven times.  There is still time to grow before receiving a call up to the main roster.  For Dijak, it is great to see his new identity back in NXT.  But, he will have his hands full, once his finger is straighten, to battle other NXT superstars.

Kiana James & Fallon Henley defeated Kayden Carter & Katana Chance (C) - NXT Women's Tag Team Champions.

It was a major upset as Henley & James dethroned  Carter a& Chance to become the new tag team champions.  There is a possibility that this match card can have a rematch.  If so, that would be great to see this battle again at NXT Stand & Deliver.  After, I expect Carter & Chance to move to the main roster to build the women's tag team division.

Carmelo Hayes defeated Apollo Crews.

Hayes swept the competition winning 2-0 in a 2-out-of-3 falls match.  Just like any other time, Hayes had some assistance with Trick Williams distracting Crews.  However, in the second series, Dabba-Kato appeared to what looked like a sure win for Crews.  The result did not favor him.  Instead, Hayes walks away as the new number one contender for the NXT Championship.  Dabbo-Kato shockingly laid out Crews after the match.  Therefore, expect Dabbo-Kato versus Crews very soon.

Gallus wins the NXT Tag Team Championships

It was a very hard fought match for all competitors in the ring.  Gallus, the new NXT tag team champions will have a continuation battles with Chase U and/or Pretty Deadly.  As for the New Day, their job is done in NXT.  Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods are still listed in the Smackdown roster.  With WrestleMania coming soon, they can step up and try to squeeze their way for another tag team championship.

Roxanne Perez defeated Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne to remain NXT Women's Champion.

It looks like there is a love and hate between Dolin and Jayne since the release of Mandy Rose.  If there is a miracle, a Rose comeback could reunite Toxic Attraction.  But that is a long hopeful and a weak possibility.  Perez successfully defended the title three times.  With NXT Stand & Deliver coming up, one has to question on her next opponent.  Cora Jade's video package broadcasted throughout the premium event.  Even though Jade lost to Perez in January, could their be a rematch?  This can be a strong possibility.  Former tag team partners can dance again.

Bron Breakker defeated Grayson Waller

Breakker man-handled Waller and convincingly won the match.  His next opponent will be  the number one contender, Carmelo Hayes.

Hayes is a rising star.  Pro Wrestling Illustrated has listed him as one of the top singles wrestlers in all wrestling promotions.  It is no surprise that Hayes has held titles and tournament wins in all eight wrestling promotions.  In NXT, he is a two-time North American Champion and the 2021 Breakout Tournament winner.

Breakker, WWE hall of Famer Rick Steiner's son, is the current two-time NXT Champion.  He has held the title for 307 plus days which is the second highest title held under Adam Cole (403 days).  Most notable wins were Tommaso Ciampa, Dolph Ziggler, and Gunther (all in the main roster).  Will this be Breakker's last match at NXT Stand & Deliver before heading to the main roster?

Breakker vs Hayes is the only official match card for NXT Stand & Deliver, the day before WrestleMania 39.

Future Call ups:

Bron Breakker

The New Day

Kayden Carter & Katana Chance
